Rey Mysterio Announced As First Inductee Into WWE Hall Of Fame Class Of 2023

He’s one of the most legendary WWE superstars to ever step into the ring, and now he’ll be headed into the WWE Hall of Fame, as Rey Mysterio becomes the first inductee into the WWE’s Hall of Fame Class of 2023.

The announcement was made during Friday’s episode of WWE SmackDown, and sees Mysterio enter rarified air, as not only will he be joining the WWE Hall of Fame, but he’ll be doing so as a still-working wrestler.

After it was announced that he would be the first inductee into the Hall of Fame, Mysterio attempted to speak in the ring, but before he could, The Judgement Day interrupted. Dominik called his father a broken-down old man, and continued to complain about Mysterio being a terrible father. He said he was ashamed to be Mysterio’s son, before things ended with Legado del Fantasma coming down to the ring.

The superstar began his wrestling career in 1989, but joined WWE in 2002, and would go on to collect a litany of championships, including holding the WWE Championship, World Heavyweight Championship (2 times), WWE Cruiserweight Championship (3 times), WWE Intercontinental Championship (2 times), and WWE Tag Team Championship (4 times), just to name a few.
