Pat McAfee Returns At WrestleMania 39, George Kittle Helps Him Beat The Miz

Pat McAfee returned at WWE WrestleMania 39, and he scored an impromptu victory.

McAfee had been a member of the SmackDown broadcast team until he stepped away to join the ESPN College GameDay team. He made a one-off return at WWE Royal Rumble 2023, where he called the action. McAfee subsequently noted that he wasn’t sure about his future in wrestling.

At WWE WrestleMania 39, The Miz and Snoop Dogg came to the ring and announced that the attendance for the show was 80,497 fans. Snoop Dogg then noted that the show could be even better if The Miz had a match. The former WWE Champion stated that he had issued an open challenge, but no one took him up on it. McAfee came to the ring and made it clear that he wanted to face “The A-Lister.”

The Miz initially refused to face McAfee and claimed that he couldn’t book the match. Snoop Dogg stepped in and made the bout official. McAfee took the fight to The Miz and drove him out of the ring. The Miz took out huis frustration by shoving NFL star George Kittle, who was in the front row. Kittle hopped the barricade and clotheslined The Miz. McAfee took advantage of the situation and dove onto The Miz at ringside. McAfee proceeded to get The Miz back in the ring and pin him following a punt kick.

McAfee previously competed at WWE WrestleMania 38; he defeated Austin Theory before he lost to Vince McMahon in an impromptu match.

Kittle is a four-time Pro Bowler and a former first-team All Pro tight end with the San Francisco 49ers. Triple H previously stated that Kittle, a known wrestling fan, was “custom made” for WWE.
