Nick Khan Comments On WWE’s Relationship With Saudi Arabia, Media Rights Negotiations

WWE CEO Nick Khan comments on WWE’s relationship with Saudi Arabia and the company’s media rights negotiations following the news of their merger with UFC.

On April 3, multiple SEC filings indicated that WWE reached an agreement with Endeavor, in which WWE and UFC would merge and form a new company. Vince McMahon then confirmed the news and discussed the move. He is set to serve as the Executive Chair of the new company, while Khan would be the president of WWE

Speaking with Sara Fischer of Axios, Khan confirmed that WWE’s relationship with Saudi Arabia will continue.

“[O]ur relationship with The Kingdom is a terrific partnership for which we’re appreciative of, and you know, nothing in terms of anyone else’s prior experience will affect that,” Khan said. “We think that we’ve delivered the product in the way that the Kingdom wanted it delivered. We have a multiple year agreement with them in place. We’re excited to do a show — we’ll be back there May 27 for a big premium live event.“

Khan also discussed the upcoming media rights negotiations and noted that FOX and NBCUniversal have the right of first refusal to re-up their respective deals with WWE. He expressed his hope that they’ll reach a deal with both companies and stated that, if they’re unable to do that, the company will explore the marketplace.

When asked whether WWE and UFC would consider a combined deal for their streaming rights, Khan praised NBCU.

“The good folks at NBCU have been tremendous partners to us,” Khan said. “So let’s see what they have to say.”

Both WWE and UFC will both be up for negotiations for their respective media rights in the near future; Fischer noted that the WWE’s Peacock deal is up in 2026, while UFC’s agreement with ESPN expires in 2025.

WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
