Cody Rhodes didn’t finish the story at WWE WrestleMania 39, but he might tell some new stories, as he reportedly has his sights set on Hollywood.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reports thay, per sources familiar with the situation, Rhodes had meetings for potential film and television roles while WWE was in Los Angeles for WrestleMania 39. He has specifically been linked to or interested in the role of Johnny Cage in an upcoming Mortal Kombat movie, something fellow WWE star The Miz has been pushing for. Some discussion has also connected Rhodes to a potential upcoming Zelda film.
Rhodes is no stranger to the acting world; he appeared on multiple episodes of Arrow, and he also appeared in an episode of Warehouse 13. Additionally, he memorably starred in Go Big Show and Rhodes to the Top.
In WWE, Rhodes lost to Undisputed Universal Champion Roman Reigns at WWE WrestleMania 39. He then entered a feud with Brock Lesnar and challenged “The Beast Incarnate” to a match at WWE Backlash. Lesnar is set to appear on the April 17 episode of WWE RAW, where he might answer the challenge. WrestleZone will have coverage of the show as it airs.
