Sami Callihan: Trinity Signing With IMPACT Is Huge For All Parties Involved

Sami Callihan details why he believes Trinity signing with IMPACT Wrestling is huge for everyone involved.

The former Naomi made her IMPACT debut on the May 4 episode of IMPACT Wrestling. Trinity, a former WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion, walked out of WWE alongside Sasha Banks in May 2022, and the company indefinitely suspended them. The duo left WWE, and Trinity has landed in IMPACT.

Speaking with SP3 for Tru Heels BTR, Callihan was asked to share his thoughts on Trinity signing with IMPACT Wrestling.

“It’s huge. It’s huge, not only for the Knockouts Division. I think it’s also huge for Trinity. You look at every wrestling company around the planet right now, I would put our Knockouts Division on par, if not better, than every division right now. If I was a female wrestler, if I was a Knockouts wrestler, I would want to wrestle at IMPACT. Girls main-event and have epic matches. You look at a girl like Deonna Purrazzo, any gender, one of the best technical wrestlers on the planet. Having Trinity now added to [the division], that’s only gonna make that division better.

Callihan continued by describing how coming to IMPACT could be beneficial for someone like Trinity, as the handcuffs will be off, and she’ll get to have fresh matches that fans have never seen before.

“I think it’s also gonna give someone like Trinity, who has been successful at other places, a chance to really show what she’s even capable of, even more so. The handcuffs are off. At IMPACT Wrestling, I hate to use the term the sky’s the limit, but the sky is 100% the limit. Getting the chance to have her on IMPACT Wrestling is huge for us.

“I think it’s an awesome deal, and I for one am extremely excited to see what she can accomplish in IMPACT because she’s another world-class athlete. She’s another one that’s that good, and now seeing matches we’ve never seen before with her is something that’s gonna be really special for the wrestling world.”

Trinity will face KiLynn King in her in-ring debut on the May 18 episode of IMPACT Wrestling. More information is available here.
