The NBA Finals will begin on June 1, and WWE helped promote the upcoming series, as the Larry O’Brien NBA Championship Trophy was taken to the May 22 episode of WWE RAW. Among other noteworthy names, WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H posed for a picture with the lenedary trophy, which is awarded to the winners of the NBA Finals.
On Monday, May 22, the Denver Nuggets punched their tickets to the NBA Finals by defeating the Los Angeles Lakers. Denver swept Los Angeles and advanced to the Finals for the first time in franchise history. The Miami Heat currently lead the Boston Celtics 3-0 in the Eastern Conference Finals.
Denver’s win reminded many WWE fans of the time WWE stars wore Nuggets jerseys on RAW.
Fans will have to wait and see which team will lift the Larry O’Brien Trophy once NBA Finals are over.
