Court Bauer discusses MLW‘s plans to expand its reach by heading to new markets.
Major League often holds events in Philadelphia and New York, and it regularly runs shows in Chicago as well. The company continues to grow, and fresh off of a new deal with FITE, he hopes to build up the company’s base in new places.
Speaking with Lavie Margolin and John Poz on The Business of the Business, Bauer was asked to name some markets he plans to open up or visit for the first time. He noted that MLW is targeting the South as an area that they want to hit hard over the next year. Bauer also described some of the logistical challenges that have prevented them from going to the West Coast.
“I think we really are targeting the South,” Bauer said. “We want to hit the South a bit hard in the next year or so. We’ve looked at going out to LA, we’ve flirted with things like that over the years. We were very close to doing some of those things. There’s a lot of costs involved with that unless you have kind of a satellite setup over there.
“You’re talking about a lot of things you have to get from East Coast to West Coast, and when you figure in inflation and stuff, you look at the margins, it’s like, ‘It’d be nice to go out there, but for business and your fiduciary responsibility as a company, it feels a little hard and a bit of a swing unless you really adjust ticket prices and d all those things. So right now we’re really focused on the South and building out the East Coast.”
In the same interview, Bauer stated that the Guinness Book of World Records has reached out about Microman. Click here to see what he had to say.
MLW recently announced that Timothy Thatcher is returning to the company. More information is available here.
