Drew McIntyre says the future doesn’t matter, as in the moment, he is back in WWE.
The former WWE Champion returned to WWE at the Money in the Bank premium live event, ending his lengthy absence. He hadn’t been seen since WWE WrestleMania 39 in April, and a subsequent report noted that he had some creative frustrations with the company.
Speaking on WWE’s The Bump, McIntyre brought up his absence and stated that he was sorry for missing his dates. He briefly addressed the “rumor and innuendo” about his future and stated that it didn’t matter. McIntyre made it clear, in the present, he is back, and he’s going to give every show 110%. “I just want to apologize for everybody, that I missed my dates, I missed the towns. It’s not like me, unless there’s a reason,” McIntyre said. “Obviously, the rumor and innuendo is out there. What’s going on with Drew McIntyre? What’s going on with the future? The future doesn’t matter. What matters is the present, and presently, Drew McIntyre is back. If you’re heading to a WWE show and Drew McIntyre’s there, you know you’re gonna get 110%, and finally, I’m chasing that big moment with a title in front of live fans. So let’s make that happen finally.”
