Tetsuya Naito To Undergo Eye Surgery On November 7

Tetsuya Naito will undergo eye surgery this month.

NJPW star Tetsuya Naito has had multiple surgeries on his right eye in the past. Now, speaking with Tokyo Sports, Naito revealed that he will have a third surgery. The procedure is an effort to correct the upper oblique muscle paralysis he has been dealing with since 2019.

In the interview, Naito noted that the muscle paralysis won’t completely get better, and wrestling will likely cause the condition to persist. However, this is the last time Naito can get the surgery. The procedure can only be done three times, according to the NJPW star’s doctor.

Naito won the 2023 G1 Climax, so he will challenge SANADA for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 18 on January 4.

WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
