One of the top stars in WWE currently is Sami Zayn. He is set to challenge Gunther at WrestleMania 40 for the Intercontinental Championship. Recently, the former NXT World Champion shared the reason why he is a professional wrestler.
Sami Zayn was recently interviewed by Josh Martinez for his YouTube channel. During the interview, in a special ‘Wrestler Crossover segment’ Damian Priest asked Zayn why he is a professional wrestler.
Zayn replied by stating that he honestly does not know why, but at the same time, he loves the business and would happily remain a professional wrestler even if money did not exist.
“Don’t know [Why I do this]. I don’t know. It just… Just is what I do. I don’t know. I mean, I just love it, I love it. And even if money wasn’t involved this is… If money didn’t exist, I don’t want to say not involved because it’s a different story now. But, this deep into the game and at this level and all that… But if money didn’t exist, this is still what I would want to do.
“If this was some sort of Utopian Society, where I don’t know what… Just that these constructs didn’t exist and it was just based purely on what would you do for enjoyment, it would be this. So I don’t really have a… I don’t know, I just love it. At this point, it’s been so long it’s kind of like, I don’t want to say it’s all I know, but it’s just what I like to do. It’s what I’ve liked to do for a long time,” Sami Zayn said.
