WWE Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley explains why she has been wearing a brace on her wrist.
Speaking with Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour, Rhea Ripley was asked about her hand/wrist with the brace on it.
“It’s my wrist. It’s been bothering me for a while, but it’s okay,” Rhea Ripley said. “It’s nothing I can’t handle, to be honest. In this kind of work, there’s always little bits and pieces going on, so just fight through.
When asked to describe how the injury happened, Ripley noted that it was simply wear and tear.
“Just doing my job,” Ripley said. “Yeah, wear and tear. Just continuously on the road, continuously having matches and doing all these things, and every now and then, something happens. But you just overcome it.

Rhea Ripley then noted that the injury had been bothering her for two months, but she had been in the brace for about a week and a half. She stated that she can take it off, and she wears it to prevent the injury from getting worse.
“I wrestled in it one night, and it was probably the most difficult thing that I’ve done because you can’t move anything,” Rhea Ripley said. “It’s hard. So tape it is. It really handy. It’s pretty much, I’m wearing it to make sure I don’t make it worse, pretty much.
“Knowing me, I don’t stop going to the gym. I’m not gonna change my schedule for any injury, it doesn’t really matter what it is. So this is just to protect me in the long run.”
Ripley will defend her title against Becky Lynch at WWE WrestleMania 40.
