Trish Stratus has paid tribute to the late Joe Flaherty.
The American actor and comedian passed away yesterday. He was known for roles on Freaks and Geeks and the Canadian sketch comedy series SCTV, and died at the age of 82.
While his cause of death was not revealed, he died after a “brief illness”. His death was announced by his daughter Gudrun.
WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus paid tribute to the comedian on Twitter. The pair worked together on Second City’s Next Comedy Legend, and she called him a “true icon”.

Trish Stratus Would Be Interested In WWE Return
Trish Stratus could be back in the ring sooner than you think. The Canadian legend had a lengthy feud with Becky Lynch last year, which culminated in a fantastic cage match at Payback. It was one of both women’s best matches, but Stratus has not appeared in WWE since.
Speaking with Alex McCarthy for Inside The Ropes, Stratus was asked if the door was open for her to potentially wrestle again in the WWE.
“I mean, listen, it’s my continuous thing I’ve said since I’ve retired. If it’s the right moment, you know, if it’s something that makes sense, will the fans like it? Is it gonna be with someone I can advance? I want to do something, like coming back and working with Zoey, for me personally was great. Because it was another layer. Becky don’t need my rub, you know what I mean? But it was an interesting feud, and it was a fantasy match up, a generational face off, unique, and you’d never think you could see that, and you got to see that, so that was great, so I checked that box.
“Bringing in Zoey for me helped because I really felt like I wanted to not just be there selfishly for me. I wanted to be able to give her something too, and she was so great, and she added so much to her story. Questionable actions at the end, of course [laughs], but nonetheless, yeah, that was a great element. So I always say if I can check all these boxes, if I can add something different, if I can make something interesting with a unique approach to different characters, then I’ll do it.”
