The Usos were one of the most popular tag teams in the current era of professional wrestling. The duo has captured the tag team championships on multiple occasions. With his brother preparing for the biggest singles match of his career, former WWE Tag Team Champion Jimmy Uso recently opened up about the first major singles match he was part of.
Recently, Jimmy Uso was interviewed by Andreas Hale for ESPN to discuss his thoughts on the World Title match between champion Gunther and challenger Jey Uso. During the interview, Jimmy Uso reflected on the time when he competed in a Triple Threat ladder match for the SmackDown Tag Team Championships. The match was initially a Three-way tornado tag ladder match, but since The Miz suffered an illness, a last-minute change turned the match into a triple threat ladder match with one member of each team participating in the match.
Jimmy Uso reveals how he and Jey picked who would compete at WrestleMania 36
Jimmy Uso opened up about how he and his brother played Rock, Paper, and Scissors to decide which one of the two would compete at WrestleMania 36. He won the game and competed in the match but then ended up getting injured.
“I thought our match would get canceled, but they just ended up making it a triple-threat singles match. We did paper, rock, scissors to see who would end up working the match. I won … and then I injured my knee.”
As Jimmy was sidelined, Jey Uso began to work alongside his cousin, Roman Reigns. This then led to him becoming Main Event Jey Uso.
“That was the first time I got to be a fan of my brother. I had to sit my a** still for once and turn off the side of my brain that’s in the ring. And I was like, ‘To hell with this, I’m going to be a fan,'” Jimmy Uso said.
