Karrion Kross hopes to bridge the gap between impossible and possible.
Kross spoke with WrestleZone Managing Editor Bill Pritchard to promote his new book, Life Is Fighting. During the interview, Kross was asked to name something he wants people to talk about more when his name comes up. It took Kross a long time to get where he wanted to in life, but he hopes that people see him as a voice that shows anyone can do extraordinary things, not just the people they see on television.
“Hard to summarize. I love the question, though. The best way I can answer it is this. It’s really cool to think about pro wrestlers as these extraordinary people that can do extraordinary things. In a tasteful and respectful way, I’m really hoping that people will think of me now and remember me in the future one day as a person who tried to close the gap respectfully, tastefully, between the performers and the people,” Kross explained. “For the purpose of letting people know they are capable of doing extraordinary things too. And you don’t have to come from a perfect background in order to achieve doing extraordinary things.”
Kross took an optimistic approach and says there’s no playbook for what works for everyone. Instead of feeling aimless and frustrated, he wants to show people what is possible.
“I want to kill that notion that people have. It’s an epidemic. It’s been around forever. It is something that I was plagued with in my early life, in my early 20s. I shot for things that I knew were attainable and never really went after anything I really wanted. And it took me a long time to figure out why I was like that, and I hope that I kill that thing that people have when they read this book. Or at least I chip away at it a little bit.”
Karrion Kross also revealed that he was approached about a biographical movie
“Someone was even mentioning to me that they are interested in turning my life into a movie, which is terrifying to me. But based on getting a read of this, that’s something that they are interested in doing. So, I have to take a look at what that looks like. That’s even more terrifying than people reading my life story. But I am relieved that you enjoyed [the book] and you felt good about it.”
Life Is Fighting is available now through physical and digital retailers like Amazon. Watch our full interview with Karrion Kross below:
