Ace Austin Claps Back at People Critiquing His AEW Debut

Ace Austin seems to have had enough of people mocking him for how his AEW debut went down.

The former TNA star made his in-ring debut for All Elite Wrestling on the August 16 episode of Collision. However, the match didn’t go down as Austin would’ve wanted, as he was defeated by Ricochet. After the match, Tony Khan confirmed that Austin was all elite.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Ace Austin responded to people calling him out over his loss in his first match for AEW. The former three-time TNA X Division Champion said while he didn’t win the match, he did earn an AEW contract.

“Yeah guys; unfortunately I didn’t ‘win’ my @AEW debut match. Which just means I have to try harder & be smarter next week because what I did ‘win’ was a sweet contract that will give me more chances to win matches & make a nice living on a huge stage. AEW is full of unbelievably skilled talent; I knew it wouldn’t be easy but I am more than up for the challenge. Thank you for the incredible love & support. It means the world to me. Thank you for the hate & whining too. It keeps my name trending,” he wrote.

Ace Austin left TNA Wrestling after his contract expired in May. His run with the promotion saw him hold the TNA World Tag Team Championship with Chris Bey on three different occasions. He also won the Super X Cup back in 2021.
