Update On Shareholders’ Lawsuit Against WWE And Vince McMahon

The 2023 WWE shareholders’ lawsuit against the company and Vince McMahon doesn’t appear to be going away.

The lawsuit, which was filed by WWE shareholders back in November 2023, alleges that Vince McMahon was behind the merger with Endeavor to keep his power within the company. In doing so, McMahon bypassed other potential buyers who would have eliminated him. This didn’t allow shareholders to receive the maximized profit from the sale.

In an extensive update from Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics, former WWE executive John Laurinaitis, who isn’t a defendant in the case, was scheduled to be deposed on September 26.

To understand what that means in legal terms, a person who is deposed has given a sworn, out-of-court testimony under oath.

In addition to Laurinaitis being deposed, Paul and Michael Mangieri, who were McMahon’s personal assistants, have been subpoenaed for documents.

While Laurinaitis isn’t a defendant, current WWE executives Nick Khan and Paul Levesque are. As well as former company executives and board members, George Barrios and Michelle Wilson. These four names all join Vince McMahon in this seemingly very serious lawsuit.

Stay tuned to WrestleZone for more information on this ongoing lawsuit as it becomes available.
