CM Punk Laughs Off Roman Reigns’ Beatdown on WWE RAW

The road to WrestleMania 42 has gotten some very personal rivalries developing, and the March 23 episode of WWE RAW just put fuel on the fire. CM Punk ended the night in bad shape after a brutal attack from Roman Reigns and The Usos. But what stood out most was Punk laughing it off.

Punk started the segment with some intense statements, like he always does. He responded to Reigns calling him “old” last week. Instead of denying it, Punk accepted it proudly. He compared himself to legends like Terry Funk, Nolan Ryan, and Gordie Howe, all of whom succeeded even at an older age.

He didn’t stop there. The WWE World Heavyweight Champion took shots at the entire Samoan wrestling family, saying they depend too much on family and can’t stand on their own. He then mocked Reigns for needing backup and said no one from his family had stepped up to face him yet.

Before his promo, Jimmy Uso warned Punk that Jey was on the “warpath.” Later, things started getting heated when Jey rushed to the ring after hearing enough about his family. The situation almost turned into a fight right away, with Punk taunting Jey. But just then, Jimmy Uso stepped in and told Jey to calm down and focus on their upcoming match.

That calm didn’t last long.

Roman Reigns made his entrance. He walked in and told the Usos to leave the ring, taking control of the situation. But Punk kept pushing him, taunting Reigns that he still needed his family to do his work. Punk even kept his hands behind his back, poking Reigns to take the first shot.

Just when The Usos were leaving the ring, Punk told them to stay, as Reigns might still need some help.

It triggered Jey as he charged at CM Punk. However, the World Heavyweight Champion punched him right away. Jimmy then grabbed Punk, which gave Reigns the opening he needed. He hit Punk with a Superman Punch. When he was leaving the ring, Jey told him to finish Punk, and Reigns hit Punk with a huge spear.

Officials rushed in, but Roman Reigns wasn’t done. He dragged Punk outside and slammed him into the ring post many times. Then, Reigns lifted Punk and powerbombed him through the announce table.

But even after all that, as the original Bloodline members were leaving, Punk surprisingly started laughing.

Beaten up and barely trying to get up, Punk looked at the officials around him and said while laughing, “I don’t need any help. I’m not the one that needs help.”

It was a statement targeted at Reigns. Although the OTC may have dominated physically, Punk wasn’t going to give up mentally.

Reigns walked away looking angry but in control, for now.
