Big Update on Chelsea Green’s Injury Status Ahead of WWE WrestleMania 42

Chelsea Green’s road to WrestleMania 42 remains uncertain. Still, a new update suggests her recovery continues at a faster pace than expected. Nevertheless, her in-ring return is still up in the air.

Green has spent time on the sidelines since early February. She suffered a chipped and cracked inner ankle bone during an Elimination Chamber qualifying match on the Feb. 6 episode of SmackDown.

While the injury initially kept her off her feet, recent signs indicate she’s slowly getting back on solid ground — quite literally.

Chelsea Green expected to remain on WWE TV while recovering from injury

According to Wrestlevotes Radio on Fightful Select, Green is “progressing well.” So, there’s internal optimism that she could be cleared sooner rather than later.

However, there is still no confirmed timeline for her medical clearance, leaving her WrestleMania 42 status in question.

Despite the setback, Chelsea Green hasn’t been written off television. Instead, she’s leaned into her “Hot Mess” persona, appearing regularly on SmackDown in a wheelchair or walking boot — often with Alba Fyre assisting her at ringside.

Recently, she was also spotted without the boot at a media event and has stated she can now bear weight on the injured ankle.

Green has also remained active outside WWE programming. She made an appearance on AAA on Fox, declaring herself the “undisputed and undefeated” Mixed AAA Tag Team Champion, insisting she never lost the title due to injury.

Storyline-wise, she attempted to align with Giulia on SmackDown. However, her proposition found a swift rejection before Nia Jax shoved her down a hallway. That moment may have added fuel to a potential WrestleMania direction — assuming she’s cleared in time.

With WrestleMania 42 set for April 18–19 in Las Vegas, the clock is ticking. Green appears determined to beat the count, but whether she makes it to the grandest stage remains a wait-and-see situation.
