AEW’s Julia Hart Says Anti-ICE Chants Hit Close To Home

All Elite Wrestling star Julia Hart recently commented on the anti-ICE chants that have become a staple at AEW shows, and how she feels the situation is close to her heart and home.

Speaking during a recent episode of Inside the Ropes, Hart spoke about the chants. They first began springing up during the February 4 edition of AEW Dynamite in Las Vegas, when Brody King faced off against MJF.

As soon as the match started, fans began chanting “f-ck ICE” loudly, which clearly caught MJF off guard. The moment also got mainstream news coverage for AEW, with King commenting on how the moment also surprised him, but gave him a ton of energy due to how the crowd was.

According to Hart, she was in favor of them, and also praised Brody King’s activism efforts in support of the families effected by the agency. Hart — who grew up in Minnesota just an hour away from where Renée Good and Alex Pretti were killed — said that she thinks it’s “great” that King has spoken up and fundraised for it.

“Well yeah, you know Brody did a great job of just wearing a t-shirt that’s all,” Hart said (via Wrestling Inc.) “He donated so much money to the families that needed it. And me being from Minnesota, where a lot of this stuff was happening, [it] kind of hit close to home.

“Like, some of the stuff that was happening was right out of a donut shop that I used to go to while growing up. You know, it’s kind of like a weird feeling and all we can do is help anyone in need and donating money and being supportive as a community. But, yeah, I think it’s great what Brody has done.”
