Confusion surrounding a reported “stabbing” at a recent independent wrestling event has taken another turn. New statements and police findings have reshaped what actually happened that night.
The incident stems from Ruthless Pro Wrestling’s OMEGA event on March 28 at the Berwyn Eagles Club in Illinois. Early reports suggested that performer Krule had been stabbed during a post-match altercation.
However, that narrative has since been challenged — and ultimately dismissed.
RSP comments on the incident that resulted in the wrestling ban at Berwyn Eagles Club
According to POST Wrestling, the Berwyn Police Department investigated the situation and confirmed that no stabbing occurred. Detective William Massuci led the inquiry, which included speaking to event management and reviewing available footage.
A video circulating online showed a disruptive fan being confronted and removed by wrestlers and staff. While initial claims painted the situation as far more severe, no weapon was visible, and both the promotion’s representative and the wrestler involved confirmed that no stabbing took place.
Rickey Shane Page (RSP) addressed the situation publicly, clarifying his limited involvement (X). “I didn’t witness the incident in person… my view of the incident was obstructed,” he stated. He added that he became a co-owner of the promotion only after the event.
RSP also pushed back against speculation that the incident was staged, stating, “Any implication that it was somehow a ‘work’ or ‘storyline’ is patently false.”
Despite the clarification, the fallout has been significant. The Berwyn Eagles Club reportedly lost its license following the incident. This incident led to a ban on professional wrestling events at the venue — a development that hit the local scene harder than a chair shot out of nowhere.
Authorities have since closed the case, with no charges filed.
While the truth may have cleared the air, the damage to the venue and its wrestling legacy may take far longer to repair.
