Why WWE Vault’s YouTube Success Shocked Its Head of Digital Media

The company’s Head of Digital Media explains why WWE Vault’s success shocked him.

Launched in 2024, WWE Vault is a dedicated, official YouTube channel with four million subscribers that has become very popular among hardcore fans. The channel features classic matches, unreleased hidden gems, and rare, never-before-seen footage from the promotion’s massive video library.

Front Office Sports recently published a feature that details the continued growth of WWE’s social and digital channels. The main focus is on the highly anticipated mask vs. mask match between El Grande Americano (Ludwig Kaiser) vs. the Original El Grande Americano (Chad Gable) at the AAA Noche de Los Grandes event this Saturday, and why the promotion is airing the contest free on its YouTube channels.

In the article, WWE’s Head of Digital Media, Steve Braband, noted that he was shocked at the impressive performance of certain content posted on the WWE Vault channel.

“The success of that came with no new resources [needed],” Braband told FOS. “We tapped into a few people that were passionate about our archive, saw the engagement on our main channel, and just moved our whole vault to this page. We’re about to hit the four-million sub mark—and it shocks me every week how some content does.”
