Mike Santana Done With TNA, Not Scheduled For Post-Slammiversary Tapings – Report

There’s a new update on Mike Santana’s TNA status amid WWE signing rumors.

According to a PWInsiderElite, via PWInsider, Santana is not scheduled for this week’s TNA television tapings in Albany, as speculation continues to grow regarding his future with the company.

At TNA Slammiversary 2026, Santana dropped the TNA World Championship to Nic Nemeth in the main event. Prior to the show, he shut down discussions about his future, reiterating that his only priority was retaining the title.

“I’ve heard the rumors,” he said. “I’m defending the world title this Sunday in Boston at Slammiversary. That is my focus. Literally all I’ve been thinking about and preparing for is this match against Nic Nemeth.”

WWE Reportedly Interested In Signing Mike Santana

PWInsider’s Mike Johnson previously reported that Santana’s TNA contract is set to expire in mid-July. The report noted a strong push within WWE to sign Santana, with the company holding him in high regard for his work and professionalism. It also added that WWE would like to have him on the main roster by the end of this year if he signs a contract.

Mike Santana officially returned to TNA in April 2024 at Rebellion, where he defeated Steve Maclin. His signing was confirmed a few days later.

Santana is a two-time TNA World Champion and a four-time TNA World Tag Team Champion alongside Ortiz. He is also familiar with WWE, having made several appearances on NXT during the 2025 crossover storyline between WWE and TNA.
