AEW star MJF caught the wrestling world’s attention after he shared, and later deleted, a Hulk Hogan-referenced social media post that many believed was a subtle reaction to CM Punk winning the Undisputed WWE title on RAW.
MJF never mentioned Punk directly, but the timing of the post was suggestive. Punk had just returned to WWE after months away and soon found himself in the world title picture. He then ended Zayn’s championship reign after only nine days.

Soon after Punk defeated Sami Zayn in Chicago to win the championship, MJF posted an Instagram Story showing Hulk Hogan celebrating his WWE Championship win at WrestleMania IX. The story was later deleted, but fans had already taken screenshots, and they quickly spread across social media.
Hogan’s WWE Championship win at WrestleMania IX is still one of the most controversial title changes in wrestling history. On that night, Bret Hart lost the WWE Championship to Yokozuna. Moments later, Hogan came out, challenged Yokozuna, and won the title almost immediately.
Many fans felt the Hulkster stole the big moment after someone else had worked hard for it. That led many viewers to believe MJF was comparing Punk’s win to Hogan’s famous title victory.
MJF and Punk had one of AEW’s biggest rivalries, delivering memorable promos and several standout matches. Because of that history, many would wonder if the Instagram Story was aimed at Punk. The AEW star has also taken some shots at Punk in his interviews and podcasts as well.
However, fans are left to interpret the post however they want. Either way, the deleted post has kept fans talking about both CM Punk’s latest title win and one of WWE’s most debated championship moments.
