WWE’s Damian Priest Reveals In-Ring Retirement Timeline

Damian Priest has opened up about how much longer he expects to compete in WWE, offering fans a glimpse into his long-term plans without suggesting that the end is around the corner.

While the former World Heavyweight Champion isn’t preparing for a farewell run just yet, he has already drawn one clear line for his career.

Speaking with Chris D Comedy, Priest reflected on the physical demands of professional wrestling and explained why he’ll let his body, rather than a calendar, determine when it’s time to step away.

Priest admitted he doesn’t have a specific retirement date in mind, but he already notices the natural effects that come with years of competing at a high level.

“I don’t have a number. I don’t have a time, but I know that I’m going to listen to my body,” Priest said. “I’ve already — I can tell, you know, it’s just natural that you’re going to start slowing down.”

Although he acknowledged those physical changes, the former WWE World Heavyweight Champion stressed that retirement isn’t imminent.

“I don’t know how much time I have left, but I don’t plan on leaving anytime soon. But at the same time, into my 50s, definitely not. Before 50, I would be done.”

At 43 years old, Priest has already put together an accomplished WWE career, highlighted by a World Heavyweight Championship reign. He also continues to play a prominent role on television alongside R-Truth, with the duo currently holding the WWE Tag Team Championship.

During the same interview, Priest also touched on the possibility of pursuing acting after wrestling, saying he would be interested if the opportunity presented itself.

“If that phone rings, I’ll answer it… I’ve thought about that as far as a possible future. I love entertainment. I love entertaining people,” he said.

For now, Priest isn’t hanging up his boots or preparing for the final bell. Instead, he’s taking a measured approach — listening to his body while continuing to compete at the highest level. The countdown hasn’t started yet, but Priest has made it clear he won’t be looking for one last ride once he reaches his 50s.
