Dolph came back out to the ring, prompting Teddy Long’s music again. Teddy said Vickie just didn’t get it, and had security come out to the ring and escort her out of the arena. Dolph said he refused to leave and said he wanted “one more match,” which prompted Teddy to say he had special security for Dolph in the form of the Big Show.
Big Show got in the ring and delivered a knockout punch to Dolph. He then dragged Dolph’s unconscious body through the confetti (as it was covering the ring), tossed Dolph on his shoulders, and carried him out of the arena.
Edge then took the mic and said that San Diego was a special city to him. He said he had probably his favorite match ever here, a no DQ match versus the late Eddie Guerrero on Smackdown, which prompted the second “Eddie” chant of the night. He then pointed out that he also tore his ACL in San Diego, in the corner where he was standing, an injury that almost ended his career.
Edge said he had his best match here, his worst, and almost last match here, and tonight he began his 11th reign as world champion here. He said he gets all his tattoos here, as he is close friends with Rey Mysterio, and Rey’s tattoo guy does all of Edge’s tattoos as well. He then wrapped it up by saying he is strongly considering retiring here when he’s done with wrestling.
