#1 Contender’s Triple Threat Steel Cage Match (Winner faces Miz at the Royal Rumble)
King Sheamus vs Wade Barrett vs Randy Orton
Barrett tries climbing the cage but Orton and Sheamus cut him off and start to beat him up in the corner. Sheamus tries climbing the other side but Orton catches him and clotheslines him, then gets hit with a big boot by Barrett. Barrett tries hitting The Wasteland on Orton, but Orton slides out and tries escaping. Sheamus and Barrett take turns punching him in the corner, then Sheamus stops Barrett from climbing again and hits him with a short lariat. Orton gets and starts taking both guys down then goes for the door and stops. He drops and pounds the mat as Barrett and Sheamus go to stop him and stays in the corner to defend himself as we go to a commercial break.
When we get back Orton is on the outside of the cage trying to escape and Sheamus goes over to stop him and Barrett helps him pull Orton back in. Orton throws Barrett’s head into the cage and dropkick Sheamus into one of the other sides. Orton goes for the ropes DDT then stops and goes after Barrett, and throws him into the cage once again. Sheamus backdrops Orton into the cage then begins to work on him while Barrett is down in the corner. Barrett finally gets up and they double team Orton once again, and their alliance is short lived as Barrett goes right after Sheamus. He whips him into the corner and starts climbing the cage but Orton cuts him off and hits a superplex, and now all three men are down.
Orton and Sheamus get up first and Sheamus counters an RKO into an Irish Curse, then he throws Barrett’s head into the cage three times and hits a powerslam. Sheamus makes it to the door but Orton keeps him in the ring and Sheamus stomps him off and tries climbing the cage this time. Barrett pulls him down and slams his head into the cage, then hits a pumple handle slam, and hits a spinning side slam on Orton. Barrett sees both guys are down and tries climbing again, but Sheamus meets him and Barrett slams his head into the top of the cage. Barrett is alone at the top and instead of climbing out he attempts to dive on Sheamus, but Sheamus gets a knee up.
Orton psyches himself up and slams Sheamus then hits the ropes DDT on Barrett, then stops Sheamus from climbing and they fight on the top rope. Barrett pulls them down and crotches them on the top rope and it looks like Orton got his hand caught in the cage as well. Barrett goes to climb the cage while Sheamus and Orton are down, and CM Punk runs down and offers to help pull him up. Barrett looks confused, then grabs Punk’s arm, but Punk pulls off his Nexus armband and kicks Barrett in the face! Sheamus hits the Brogue Kick on Barrett, then turns around into an RKO and Orton walks out of the cage as the new #1 contender!
