During the night, a lot of WWE-related names appeared on the "Worldwide" Trending Topics list on Twitter. I saw #MITB, Triple H, Sheamus, Cena, Batista, #wm26, Swagger, #WWE, and #ThankYouShawn appeared near the end (there seems to be a group effort of spamming #ThankYouShawn to get it on the trending topics list.
Interestingly, the United Kingdom Trending Topics list is filled with WWE-related topics. "Batista likes fishsticks", Frog Splash, Vickie Guerrero, Divas Match, HBK, Undertaker, and Shawn Michaels are on the UK list. The only non-related WWE topics on the list are #iknewitwaslove, #ZodiacFact, and #thekindagirliam.
As of now, (I’m actually shocked WWE is this popular on Twitter right now) these topics are trending: "Thank You Shawn", HBK, #wm26, and Shawn Michaels. Never before have I seen a wrestling event cause so much talk. The last time I’ve seen anything about wrestling make it on the trending topics list was the Jan. 4th episode of Impact, where "TNA" and "Jeff Hardy" were trending. (To be fair, though, WWE and "Bret Hart" trended that night, too).
Looks like WWE was really successful with this show.
