Backstage: Kane & HBK, HHH & HBK

Backstage, Shawn Michaels is approached by Kane. Kane says HBK’s obsession with his brother is strange. He tells him he’s eliminated more men than the Rumble than anyone and he’ll throw HBK out tonight. In walks HHH, he wishes HBK good luck. HBK wishes him good luck back. They shake hands. As HHH goes to leave, HBK pulls him back in. He says HBK vs. The Undertaker is meant to be. HHH says he knows it is, that’s how he knows HBK will find another way to get that match.

30-Man Royal Rumble Match

Dolph Ziggler draws number one. Out he comes. Evan Bourne is number two. Bourne and Ziggler will start off the 2010 Royal Rumble. Ziggler almost gets Bourne out, but ultimately no dice. Bourne nearly huracanrana’s Ziggler out. Also zero dice. Ziggler hits the Zig-Zag. He scoops Bourne up and tosses him over the top. Bourne hangs on to the apron outside the ropes. He kicks Ziggler down and climbs up. He hits the Air Borne as the clock counts down. Number three is CM Punk. Out comes CM Punk with Serena. CM Punk eliminates both Bourne and Ziggler (in that order). CM Punk is by himself. Serena brings the mic to Punk. CM thanks everyone for joining him in his most defining moment. He says Ziggler and Bourne were just the first to get thrown over the top rope, but they won’t be the last. He tells them they can be saved.

The countdown hits and out comes JTG from Cryme Tyme at number four. Punk quickly throws JTG out and gets back on the microphone. "As he was saying before he was so rudely interupted." Punk explains how not everyone can win the Rumble tonight the same way everyone can not be saved. The countdown begins again. At number five we have: The Great Khali. The crowd? "Oooh." + "Ahh." Punk – stunned. He stays on mic and tries talking his way out of it. He tells Khali he can save him. He says, "Great Khali…I can make you Greater!" He tries getting Khali to do the save himself routine. He asks if he accepts straight-edge into his life. Khali chops Punk on the head. He puts the Vice on and squeezes away. The countdown for a new entrant begins.

Number six is…Beth Phoenix. She gets right in Khali’s face. Khali picks her up like a baby and gently sets her down outside the ropes on the apron. He tells her to walk to the back. Beth grabs Khali and kisses him. She pulls him over the top in mid-kiss and stays in the ring. Khali is eliminated. Beth is going toe-to-toe with CM Punk right now and the crowd is into it. Punk gets Beth up now and hits the GTS on her. Crowd stunned. Countdown begins again. Zack Ryder comes out as number seven. Punk tosses Beth outside the ring as he comes into the ring. He gets back on mic and tells Ryder he has potential to be saved. He goes into the save speech and just hits Ryder with the microphone instead. He’s attacking Ryder now. Punk tosses Ryder out with ease. Looks like we got a little blood in Punk’s mouth too. Announcers aren’t acknowledging it. Punk eliminates Ryder and says bring on the next one. Whoever it is, he is better than him. Countdown begins. Triple H’s music hits. Time to play the game. HHH is number eight. HHH and Punk go at it. HHH getting the better. Serena shown screaming at ringside. Punk hits a knee on HHH in the corner. Countdown begins. HHH sidewalk slams Punk as the bell sounds.

Out comes Drew McIntyre at number nine. HHH and McIntyre go toe-to-toe. HHH goes for the Pedigree on Punk, Punk reverses into GTS but HHH reverses that and throws Punk out. Punk is pissed but he’s eliminated. McIntyre knocks HHH down. Down to only HHH and McIntyre in the ring now as the countdown clock hits again. Who’s number ten? Ted DiBiase Jr. from Legacy. DiBiase and McIntyre seem to be getting along in double-teaming HHH. The countdown clock begins. They’re working on getting HHH out of the ring. Number eleven entrant: John Morrison. Morrison, HHH, DiBiase and McIntyre are now legal in the Rumble. Countdown begins again and we’ve got Kane at number twelve. Five guys in the ring right now, most at once during the Rumble so far tonight. Kane has everyone down. Kane hits a chokeslam on HHH as the countdown clock hits again. Entry number thirteen is? Cody Rhodes. Ring is full now. Someone will be exiting shortly. Rhodes and DiBiase work on throwing Kane over but HHH stops them.

Countdown clock hits and number fourteen is — MVP. As MVP makes his entrance, The Miz attacks MVP from behind and hits him with the U.S. title. The announcers explain the payback element from earlier tonight when MVP attacked Miz post-match. Back in the ring, which is loaded still, Kane and McIntyre are the focus while HHH battles Legacy. Morrison hits an awesome spin kick on McIntyre off the middle rope. A referee helps MVP to the back. Not sure if he’s eliminated or not. Legacy working on throwing HHH out but Kane stops them. Countdown clock hits again. Who is #15? Carlito. Countdown clock hits again and #16 is The Miz. MVP comes out of nowhere and eliminates The Miz. MVP is now officially eliminated himself also. Kane, HHH, Morrison, McIntyre, Rhodes, DiBiase and Carlito are left.
