Backstage: Abyss Attacks Lashley, Hogan Changes Plans

Backstage we see Bobby Lashley. He walks into Eric Bischoff’s room. Abyss is in the room too. Abyss attacks Lashley. Lashley is out. Bischoff yells at Abyss for ruining his semi-main event. Hulk Hogan comes in and asks what’s going on. Bischoff tells him and walks off. Hogan gives Abyss a pep-talk. Hogan tells Abyss not to worry as he’ll still have a match tonight. Abyss asks who his opponent is going to be. Hogan tells him not to worry. He’ll see soon. He says this is going to be good.

Desmond Wolfe vs. D’Angelo Dinero

Wolfe comes out first with a new valet. The Pope comes out. Money falls from the ceiling as the fans lunge out trying to get as much as they can. Wolfe using a lot of leg submission holds on Pope early in the match. Crowd is into this match. Wolfe continues to work on the leg and knee of Dinero. Dinero finally trying to fight back now with chops and punches. Wolfe floors Pope with a European uppercut. He calls the crowd wankers. "Pope, Pope" chant from the crowd as Wolfe puts Pope on the top rope. He’s going for the Tower of London but Pope breaks it. Pope spears Wolfe out of nowhere. Pope hits an awesome brainbuster. Pope tries a pin attempt but Wolfe gets his foot on the ropes. Wolfe is back in control and again is working on the leg of Pope. He has Pope’s leg wrapped around the ringpost and is pulling his body to put pressure on the leg and back. Announcers are selling it as a dangerous spot. Pope limps his way back into the ring. Wolfe and the ref are arguing. Wolfe turns around and Pope hits a big slam. He goes down however, holding his leg in pain. The crowd brings him alive and he’s firing up on offense now with quick punches. Wolfe cuts him dead in his tracks and is back in control of the action yet again. Pope sets up for his finisher but limps trying. This allows Wolfe to cut him dead in his tracks with a lariet clothesline. He gets the pinfall and the victory.

Backstage: Bischoff Fires Borash; Ric Flair Promo

Jeremy Borash is talking about tonight’s main event when Eric Bischoff walks up and cuts him off. He takes his microphone from him. He asks Borash what he’s doing. He tells Bischoff he’s doing his job. Bischoff says his job is what he tells him it is. He tells him he’s going to take him off television. He said he’ll find him a job, maybe in catering or something. The crowd boo’s. Bischoff brings Christy Hemme in. Ric Flair interupts him and Bischoff just walks off. Hemme welcomes Flair to TNA. She asks what his role in TNA will be. Ric Flair says he’s not going to reveal why he’s here yet. But he says he goes where the best talent in the world is and that’s why he’s in TNA. WOOOO! Off he goes.
