MyNetwork TV and WWE issued the following press release, touting the ratings success of last week’s Smackdown premiere:

MyNetworkTV Delivers the Most Male Viewers in History of the Network and Tops All Other Broadcast Networksâ<80><99> Friday Performance in M18-34

NEW YORK â<80>” MyNetworkTV was the king of the ring on Friday night as the most viewers in the history of the network tuned-in for the two-hour all-star debut of â<80><9c>WWE Friday Night SmackDownâ<80> announced Greg Meidel , president of MyNetworkTV. The network premiere also delivered the most M18-34 (1.2) and M18-49 (1.3) viewers in MNT history, as â<80><9c>WWE Friday Night SmackDownâ<80> won the night in the coveted M18-34 demo, besting the closest broadcast network competitor by +33%.

3.2 million total viewers (P2+) (1.9 HH rtg) tuned-in to the MyNetworkTV telecast of â<80><9c>WWE Friday Night SmackDown.â<80> The Superstar-studded premiere garnered MyNetworkTV a 217% ratings increase in HH and 233% in A18-49 over the same Friday last year.

In making the announcement, Meidel stated, â<80><9c>The all-star kick-off of â<80>~WWE Friday Night SmackDown,â<80><99> on its new home on MyNetworkTV was a knockout. We look forward to the edge of your seat storylines and Superstar matches that the WWE has in store this season.â<80>

For the first time ever on broadcast television, it was a night of Champion vs. Champion including a â<80><9c>Triple Threat Matchâ<80> between WWE Champion Triple H, World Heavyweight Champion Chris Jericho and ECW Champion Matt Hardy with Triple H coming out on top.

Geof Rochester, Executive Vice President of Marketing for WWE, added, â<80><9c>Friday’s ratings performance was just further evidence that WWE builds networks having been a ratings driver for Spike TV, CW and UPN in the past.â<80>

â<80><9c>WWE Friday Night SmackDownâ<80> is presented on Friday nights at 8 PM (ET/PT) on MyNetworkTV.

Nick was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, and lived there until the age of 18, when he decided to pack his flack jacket and move to New York City.

Nick attended New York University and graduated in 2001 with a degree in Drama.

Nick first entered the internet wrestling community back in 2004 when he became the co-host of The Voice of Wrestling Radio Show. From there, Nick made the transition from radio personality to editor when he began working with WrestleZone in 2008.

Nick is a member of two Off-Broadway theatre companies, Another Urban Riff, and the Drama Desk Award winning Godlight Theatre Company. Nick has appeared in over a dozen Off-Broadway plays since he moved to New York City, and has shot several short and feature length films. In 2010, he completed principle photography on a film titled "How to Score Your Life," which also features TNA Knockout ODB.

Inspiration in his life has come from many people including his family, Woody Allen, Steven Spielberg, Jack Nicholson, The Beatles, and of course, Lassie.
