Darren Rovell a reporter for CNBC called WWE headquarters yesterday and asked them whether they were irresponsible in issuing a news release that â<80><9c>Mr. McMahonâ<80> was â<80><9c>presumed deadâ<80> after his limo was blown up last Monday.
WWE released the following statement to Mr. Rovell:
To date, World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc. has not received a single inquiry from a shareholder regarding the alleged demise of â<80><9c>Mr. McMahon.â<80>
It is well known to our shareholders and our viewers that â<80><9c>Mr. McMahonâ<80> is a character portrayed by Vincent Kennedy McMahon, the founder and Chairman of World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc.
As far as speculation as to who may have committed this heinous act against â<80><9c>Mr. McMahon,â<80> the WWE has not ruled out any suspects, including CNBC sports business reporter Darren Rovell. WWE clearly admits that Vinceâ<80><99>s â<80><9c>deathâ<80> is a storyline and that there is a big difference between Mr. McMahon the character and Vincent Kennedy McMahon the found and Chairman of WWE.
