TNA Final Resolution PPV Results (12/9): Styles/Daniels Steal the Show, the Aces & Eights Attack & More!

A great video packing airs for the rivalry between Styles and Daniels. It shows clips and says the greatest match in history was Joe/Daniels/Styles for the X-Division title; hard to disagree.

(7) AJ Styles vs. Christopher Daniels

The two of them lock up in the middle of the ring, with Daniels getting a wrist lock, but immediately taken down to the mat by Styles with a headlock. The two trade headlocks and headscissors on the ground, until Daniels rolls one into an arm hold. Back to their feet, the two run the ropes with Daniels taking down Styles with several shoulder blocks. Styles rolls to the outside to get it together as Daniels mocks him.

They go back to a lock-up with Daniels again taking the advantage, locking up the arm behind AJ’s back. Styles breaks free and gets a spinning wheel kick, followed by another and he’s all fired up! A big chop in the corner connects, and Daniels migrates to the opposite corner and eats another chop. AJ snaps off a headscissors from Daniels single-leg hold and lands a big flying clothesline in the corner. Styles just stares at Daniels lying on the mat, and has finally found his confidence in this match.

AJ hooks in the Indian Deathlock! He wrenches it back and gets the chinlock at the same time, and Daniels screams out in pain. Daniels somehow gets to the ropes and Styles is forced to break it up. The two roll to the apron, and AJ gets a snap suplex right on the ring arpon! Ouch! Styles tries for it again, but Daniels counters into a brainbuster! The cround goes silent as Styles is lifeless on the ground, but looks to be fine. Daniels pulls out the ring steps and body slams Styles right on top of them. The head back into the ring and Daniels continues to work over his opponents back with a big body drop and several clotheslines.

AJ fights his way out of a side headlock, but eats a kick to the jaw from Daniels. Another connects and Daniels gets a two-count. Vertical suplex connects, followed by a beautiful moonsault which transitions immediately into a crossface. AJ refuses to tap out, and Daniels lets him go as he reaches the ropes. Back to the center of the ring, Daniels locks in another headlock, but Styles fights through and uses headbutts to free himself. Off the Irish whip both of them go for crossbodies and collide; AJ Styles is busted open the hardway. Their heads collided, and AJ is bleading from a very swollen eyebrow.

Despite the blood, AJ comes out of nowhere with the flying clothesline, followed by a big kick to the side of his opponent’s head. He motions for the Styles Clash, but Daniels rolls through and tries for the pin. Styles kips up and takes down Daniels with the headscissors. He tries for another headscissors, but Daniels slams him down with a powerbomb! Daniels takes him to the corner and gets the Fall From Grace off the second rope, but Styles kicks out at very nearly three.

Daniels throws his opponent to the corner, but Styles backflips off the turnbuckle and plants the reverse DDT! They head up to the top rope, and Styles gets a superplex! The two are both down and crowd is fired up. The crawl to their feet using the ropes, and trade right hands back and forth. AJ strings together a chain of rights, but Daniels nails him with the forearm. Daniels tries to take advantage, but gets caught with a discus clothesline and the Pele! AJ goes for the Styles Clash, but Daniels counters into the Angle’s Wings position, but AJ counters yet again and nails the Styles Clash! 1…2…NO! Daniels kicks out!

AJ can’t believe he didn’t get the win, and tries to figure out what he has to do. He picks up Daniels and take him to the corner. He lifts his lifeless body up to the top rope and gets in position for the Styles Clash from the top rope! He goes for it, but Daniels grabs the ropes and AJ goes face first into the ring! Daniels hits the Styles Clash for the three…
