Serena Deeb Speaks on Career-Threatening Injury, Relationship w/ CM Punk, Today’s Divas/Knockouts & More

Wrestlezone’s Mike Killam – alongside Doug McDonald from WrestlingRumors.net – interviewed Serena Deeb this week to discuss the former WWE Diva’s potentially career-threatening injury, her recent debut with TNA, her relationship with CM Punk and much more.

On the concussion that set her back over 18 months:

Basically what happened was there was a Shimmer taping in Chicago, Illinois … it was my final match in a long weekend of rough matches … I was really tired, and I end up taking a really bad blow to the head. For quite a while I was in denial about it. After a few weeks I started experiencing a lot of complications … [I was out] six months to a year, minimum. I just didn’t know what the future was going to hold at that point – I just had no idea.

On her relationship with CM Punk:

Our relationship went back a long time ago. He was actually the one that initially got me hooked up with Shimmer … when we were in OVW at the same time. The friendship definitely goes back – it would be like seven or eights years ago now. I honestly have the most respect for him professionally. There’s not many people who can touch Punk. He knows it. He carries himself as such. And I’m happy for his match [at WrestleMania]

Can CM Punk end the Undertaker’s streak?

Undertaker is pretty symbolic of WrestleMania, so that’s pretty cool. But … I don’t think the streak will ever end.
