While WWE continues its TV rights negotiation process, one network that is said to be interested in the rights is WGN. Besides the USA Network, which of course secured the rights to Raw, WGN was the only other legitimate bidder for the TV rights back in 2008.

The belief is that WWE TV could help WGN expand its potential audience thus giving them the ability to charge cable systems more for carriage of their channel.

Backstage News on Why Carlos Colon is Being Inducted

WWE making the decision to induct Carlos Colon into the Hall of Fame this year has to do with the launch of the WWE Network, and WWE's plans to expand the Network internationally.

WWE eventually wants to purchase the World Wrestling Council video library from Puerto Rico, and WWC is interested in selling a portion of its library, but inducting Colon into the Hall of Fame is part of the deal.
