8/21 WWE NXT Results: Triple H Makes Rare Appearance, Tag Team Tournament Semi-Finals, Charlotte in Action

Charlotte vs. Becky Lynch

The Women’s champion starts the match and bounces off the ropes, shades of her daddy, which gets a “Woo!” from the crowd. Becky gets a roll-up which transitions into a leg lock instead. Charlotte breaks free and goes into her own leg lock. Lynch gets to the ropes to break the hold, and Charlotte responds with kicks in the corner until the referee breaks them up. She goes into the Figure Four headlock, Lynch kips up out of it, and gets turned inside-out with a clothesline. Becky comes with with a running leg drop, then builds up steam and delivers another, followed by a third for a two-count. She tries for a vertical suplex, but Charlotte counters with a scoop slam suplex. The champ hits her finisher – Bow Down to the Queen – and picks up the win.

Winner: Charlotte

After a commercial break, Enzo Amore comes out and tells Sylvester LeFort to fall back like his hair line. He challenges him to a Hair vs. Hair match at NXT Takeover 2, and if he doesn’t agree to that, he’s S-A-W-F-T.

Mojo Rowley vs. Steve Cutler

As soon as the bell rings, Mojo picks up Steve and slams him into the corner, leveling him with shoulder thrusts. He hits a huge running shoulder tackle, but ends up running into a lariat from Cutler for a half-count. Cutler hits a few shots to the back, but Mojo responds with strong Irish whips. He lines up for the big splash in the corner, hits it twice, and delivers the Rear View, followed by Hyperdrive for the win.

Winner: Mojo Rowley

Mojo gets on the mic after the match and cuts a very serious promo about being more than just a smile and a catchphrase. He says the smile is gone – Renee makes a jab about people “losing their smiles” – and Mojo tells Bull Dempsey is going to find out exactly what staying hyped is all about.
