Plans for Freakshow Wrestling Event
While we haven’t yet received any reports from the Freakshow Wrestling event this weekend that Jake Roberts was supposed to be attending in Las Vegas, according to a report there were plans to take up a collection to help with the Hall of Famer’s medical expenses. There were also talks of possibly bringing in former WWE star Rikishi to cover the loss of Jake at the event, and for the fans to collectively call him at the hospital in order to wish Roberts a speedy recovery.
Former TNA Stars Aims at WWE
Former TNA World Champion Chris Sabin was a guest on The Shining Wizards podcast recently. Among other topics, Sabin stated this his goal is still to work for WWE some day, as it has been his entire life. Sabin is currently 32-years-old, and worked on-and-off for TNA Wrestling from 2003 until earlier this year. You can check out the complete interview at the link above.
Darren Young Posts Photo/Update
Darren Young posted a photo on Twitter this weekend, and has apparently spent a lot of time in the gym since stepping away from the ring earlier this year. Young was injured in a match this April after WrestleMania, and had surgery to repair his torn ACL. He noted on 8/25 that he would be back in the ring soon, and his previously estimated recovery time should put him back between now and October.
