WWE Extending “Destruction of The Shield” Network Special into a DVD Release, Content Details, Synopsis & More

After The Shield broke up and went their separate ways heading into SummerSlam this year, WWE ran a special on the WWE Network titled “Destruction of The Shield,” and now, according to WrestlingDVDNews.com, the special will be extended into a DVD and Blu-ray release, available sometime next February or March.

The release is scheduled to be a three-disc DVD and a two-disc Blu-ray, and will include an extended version of the original 56 minute documentary which aired on the WWE Network, as well as full length matches with The Shield as extras.

The following is a synopsis for the release:

Follow a behind the scenes journey in the life of WWE’s newest and most prolific trio The Shield, on their road to SummerSlam. They were the most dominant faction inside the ring, taking the entire WWE by storm. Now, the Hounds of Justice have disbanded, and roads now lead to SummerSlam.

Witness the journeys of the three superstars – Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns from their humble beginnings en-route to the biggest event of the summer!

The program will include even more exclusive content than originally aired on the WWE Network, along with hours of The Shield’s greatest matches.

Nick was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, and lived there until the age of 18, when he decided to pack his flack jacket and move to New York City.

Nick attended New York University and graduated in 2001 with a degree in Drama.

Nick first entered the internet wrestling community back in 2004 when he became the co-host of The Voice of Wrestling Radio Show. From there, Nick made the transition from radio personality to editor when he began working with WrestleZone in 2008.

Nick is a member of two Off-Broadway theatre companies, Another Urban Riff, and the Drama Desk Award winning Godlight Theatre Company. Nick has appeared in over a dozen Off-Broadway plays since he moved to New York City, and has shot several short and feature length films. In 2010, he completed principle photography on a film titled "How to Score Your Life," which also features TNA Knockout ODB.

Inspiration in his life has come from many people including his family, Woody Allen, Steven Spielberg, Jack Nicholson, The Beatles, and of course, Lassie.
