Bellator Fighting President Interested in Brock Lesnar, Konnan Explains His Recent Arrest at NFL Game

Bellator President Interested in Brock Lesnar

Lesnar.JPGBellator President Scott Coker appeared on MMA Hour with host Ariel Helwani, and Coker had the following to say regarding possible negotiations with Brock Lesnar after his WWE contract expires:

“We’ve had a conversation internally and it’s worth a conversation, but that’s something we’ll pursue maybe later into January.

I would say, look, any fighter that’s out there or any star athlete – not star athlete in the sense of a baseball player, but like a Brock Lesnar – that really wants to fight, we’re going to have a conversation with them. Because if they can move the needle, we’re going to want them on Spike TV.

I think that he’s a big needle mover. There have been several years that have passed and I think that he still has the WWE limelight. So, I think that he still has a lot of star power, but to come back and say, ‘Hey, I want to train, I want to commit, I want fight’, that’s going to be a big commitment. We haven’t had a conversation yet, but we’d like to.”

Konnan Explains His Recent Arrest at NFL Game

On the most recent edition of MLW Radio, Konnan addressed the arrest photo posted online by Rey Mysterio, which took place at the Raiders vs Chargers NFL game.

Konnan noted he, Mysterio, MVP and others attended the game, which is known to get hostile at times due to the rivalry between both teams. Security rules had been put into place restricting certain size bags, and one of the people in Konnan’s party was not allowed to bring a purse into the stadium, so Konnan decided to return it to the car.

“I tell Rey, ‘Hey, I need the keys to the car’ and…there are these workers who are there and they’re like, ‘You can’t pass this line,” Konnan said. “I go, ‘I’m not trying to pass this line, I’m trying to get that key.’ So all of the sudden, a cop who looks a lot like the guy from The Shield, Michael Chiklis, and he just grabs my arm and he tries to put it behind my back. I didn’t know who he was so I resisted and I was actually going to try to take him down and he goes, ‘Don’t tense up!'”

Konnan then revealed he was taken to jail, but once he passed a sobriety test he was released.
