NXT #1 Contender’s Tournament First Round Match

Adrian Neville def Tyson Kidd

Neville won with Red Arrow after a good back and forth match. Postmatch, Neville is told he’ll face the winner of the final first round match, Bull Dempsey versus Baron Corbin. Neville says it’s about getting back up after you’ve been knocked down, so he’s winning this tournament to get back all the way up and prove he’s the most dominant NXT champion ever.

Charlotte & Bayley vs Sasha Banks & Becky Lynch

The match ends in a no contest after Bayley and Charlotte start fighting each other. It all started when Bayley broke up a pinfall by Sasha, and she inadvertently hit Charlotte with a forearm shot. Charlotte and Bayley end up shoving each other, then Becky and Sasha get involved and the ref calls for the bell. They continued to fight each other until a group of referees broke it up, then Sasha and Becky leave, followed by Bayley then Charlotte.

NXT Tag Team Championships

Wesley Blake & Buddy Murphy def Lucha Dragons to win NXT Tag Team Championships

Blake and Murphy win after a sequence that sees Blake get a blindtag in after Kalisto whips Murphy into the ropes. Kalisto hits Murphy with an inverted DDT and goes for a pin, but Blake surprises him from behind with a rollup and gets the win. The fans chant ‘you deserve it’ at the new champions.

NXT #1 Contender’s Tournament First Round Match

Baron Corbin def Bull Dempsey

Corbin wins with End of Days; pretty much a short match like their last television match.

Sami Zayn, Kevin Owens and William Regal are in the ring for a contract signing. Sami asks why Owens attacked him, then he says he should have seen this coming, but he still never thought Owens would betray him after finally both getting to NXT. Sami signs, then Owens waits before he glances over and says the contract reads non title, and his attack at Takeover wasn’t personal. Owens says he fights for a prize and Sami what he came here for, so he won’t sign until it is for the title. He says he fights to get to the absolute top, and that NXT Championship Sami has means more glory for Owens, and more money to take care of his family. Sami tells Regal to do it, because that’s what they all want, and he says Owens won’t sign until he gets what he wants, and Regal amends it right on the spot. Owens signs and throws the pen and contract at Sami, but Regal holds Sami back as Owens leaves.
