As noted, The Wrestling Observer reported earlier today that former WWE Magazine writer Brian Solomon once pitched an idea for Brock Lesnar to debut as a gay character, and the idea made it all the way to the writer’s room before eventually being shot down.

Former WWE writer Seth Mates commented on the report on Twitter, and noted that while the idea was in fact pitched for Lesnar, some of the details reported were incorrect, such as the writer who pitched the idea being Brian Solomon. Mates also noted that anyone can pitch ideas in WWE, but that doesn’t mean it was close to actually happening.
Mates Tweeted the following:
ANYONE within WWE could pitch ideas to creative; just because they did does not mean that certain ideas were ever actually on the table

Some bad info out there today, including the names of those who did pitch, when it was done, etc … though yes, there was such a pitch
