Backstage News on Rey Mysterio Possibly Debuting in Lucha Underground, Role Change for Vampiro, New Talent Debut and More

lucha undergroundAccording to The Wrestling Observer, Rey Mysterio is expected to sign with Lucha Underground at some point in the near future and be used as the promotion’s top star in the second season.

Rey signing with the promotion is not yet official, and it’s very possible Lucha Underground might be saving him for a big surprise on the show, which is why both sides have been pretty quiet as of late.

In related news, it’s expected that former WWE Tough Enough contestants Matt Casaus will be getting a bigger push on season two of Lucha Underground, and after working dark matches last year former Olympian Jeff Cobb is expected to debut with the promotion.

Another change that is very possible for the show is Vampiro being moved from the announce team to managing Pentagon, Jr.

As noted, Lucha Underground co-executive producer Chris DeJoseph told WZ in an exclusive interview that Alberto El Patron will also be coming to the promotion in season two.
