Exclusive: EC3 Talks His Injunction Against TNA, World Title Series Tournament, DQ’s, India, more (Audio Included)

impact wrestlingEarlier today former TNA World Heavyweight Champion Ethan Carter III granted an interview to WrestleZone Radio’s Nick Hausman.

Below is an embedded audio player with EC3’s interview as well as some transcribed quotes:

On Matt Hardy questioning his manliness since he has chosen to go the litigious route in his battle to regain the TNA World Heavyweight Championship:

EC3: I have a frank and two beans swinging between my legs so I’ll tell you what, “I am a man.” What made me go the legal route? That’s a great question that I have a great answer for. It’s because, think about this, I gotta spell it out, here’s the facts: I could have allowed Matt Hardy to become the TNA World Heavyweight Champion. I could have invoked the proverbial rematch clause but legally I was robbed. My property was stolen from me. It was not a change of possession. There’s no bill of sales so to speak. In wrestling terms there was no pinfall on me. So, there’s no bill of sale. I was robbed. You don’t want to give credence to that robbery; that transgression against me. That was not a real thing that happened so I do not want it to be known in the history books or more. Via the legal channels I wanted to get that title change overruled and returned to me. What happened instead? Via litigation he (Matt Hardy), smart plan on him, he relinquished that title. Thereby solidifying him as a “Former World Heavyweight Champion” and allowing possession of my property back in to the hands of my very incompetent Aunt Dixie Carter

On why he tried to get disqualified to retain his TNA World Heavyweight Championship at Bound For Glory in a match that was n0-disqualification:

EC3: Ok, yeah, in the heat of battle tho, YES! It’s a ‘No DQ Match.’ Yes, it’s a triple threat. And yes, I was the first one to instill an object in to the match in the form of a table. I also thought that Jeff Hardy was a rookie referee. I didn’t think that, he is a rookie referee. He’s barely a rookie referee, he’s barely a referee. He painted his face for Christ’s sake. Yes, and I kicked drew directly in the, you know, the testicles. I have no shame in that. I’ve done it to many men before and I plan on doing it to many men again. Trying to get dq’d in a “No-DQ Match” was one escape route I talked about with my team prior thinking maybe it can work. And, you know, when your back’s up against the wall man you’re gonna fight. You are going to do whatever it takes to get out of there alive. I tried. I failed at it.

On when the TNA World Series Title Tournament was filmed:

On what fans can expect from TNA branching out in to India:

EC3: India’s a huge country and it’s a huge market. I like how my Aunt she claims a big announcement and then announces this thing and it is a pretty big deal. But a lot of people are like, “Oh, that’s it?!” Expecting everything because wrestling fans are sometimes the worst people in the world. It is a very big deal. We are with Sony SIX which is a very popular entity in India and I don’t know if you know but that’s a country with over a billion people in it. That’s a pretty big deal. I’m going to go over there, they’re sending the champ… I mean, the “former” Champ. I’m there to placate, look around and make sure everything is kosher. Make sure everything is good. Check the foundation of the Taj Mahal and promote the brand. We are a global entity and we’re going to keep going. We are going to keep going forward. I think we are going to go over there for a nice little tour, HYPOTHETICALLY. There will probably be some television cameras rolling, HYPOTHETICALLY. That’s all to be seen. TBD.

In the full interview Ethan chats candidly with Nick about losing the TNA World Heavyweight Championship at Bound For Glory, his injunction against TNA, TNA holding their TNA World Series Title Tournament, when the tournament ‘hypothetically’ was taped, hunting pelicans, his anger towards his Aunt Dixie, whether or not he trusts Tyrus, what fans can expect from TNA’s expansion in India, Drew Galloway being the hometown favorite when TNA tours the UK, more
