Update on Blue Pants’ NXT Backstage Heat

blue pantsAs noted, Leva “Blue Pants” Bates has ended her run in WWE NXT, and there are no plans to bring her back to TV anytime soon. We also noted Bates rubbed some people in NXT the wrong way when talking about how over she was with the live crowd.

According to The Wrestling Observer, Bates is indeed done with WWE for the time being, and her getting over the way she did garnered her some backstage heat in NXT and “ruffled some feathers.” WWE continued to use Bates, however, as they knew she would get a big pop in Brooklyn for Takeover, and when she lost a match to Alexa Bliss, that was the planned end of Bates’ NXT run.

IronMan Matches to Headline WWE Live Events

This weekend’s WWE live events in Lubbock and Abilene, TX, will be headlined by 30 minute United States Title IronMan matches featuring John Cena vs Seth Rollins.

WWE Wanted to Sign Top Lucha Underground Names

According to The Wrestling Observer, the announcement of a second season of Lucha Underground surprised some people in WWE, as the company was interested in signing Ricochet, aka Prince Puma, and Angelico.

Ricochet lives in Orlando and is Apollo Crews’ roommate, and WWE had been discussing fast-tracking Ricochet into matches against Finn Balor in NXT, but WWE is unable to sign him right now as he is under a 7 year deal with Lucha Underground.
