WWE Reportedly Discussing the Idea of a Network Series Focusing on Lighter Weight Wrestlers, Details

According to The Wrestling Observer, WWE is currently discussing the idea of a Network series which would focus on lighter weight wrestlers in the company.

While plans can always change, and could be scrapped altogether, one idea being talked about is to produce a 10 episode tournament for “unknown” wrestlers that haven’t appeared on WWE or NXT TV, who weigh less than 205 pounds. An idea has been proposed to do a Japanese style tournament as well.

Another idea pitched would be for the show to feature all indy talents, with those who really get over eventually being offered WWE deals.

As a vehicle to give Manny Andrade, fka La Sombra, his big NXT debut, another idea has been proposed to mix “hot indy talents” with current developmental talents.
