The new WWE Women’s Championship and Smackdown Tag Team Championships were revealed by Daniel Bryan and Shane McMahon at the start of tonight’s WWE Smackdown Live.
The Women’s Championship will be awarded to the winner of a six pack challenge at WWE Backlash, featuring Nikki Bella, Becky Lynch, Natalya, Naomi, Alexa Bliss and Carmella competing for the new title.
The tag team titles will be decided in a tournament format, which will start on Smackdown tonight. The teams involved are American Alpha, The Usos, The Hype Bros, Breezango, The Vaudevillains and The Ascension. Heath Slater also appeared and wanted a chance to enter the tournament, and Daniel Bryan said he could enter next week if he found a partner, speculating that his team along with an eighth would be added to the tournament.
