On what he could see “Broken” Matt Hardy do if he becomes a free agent:

KG: We are seeing these exciting doors being doors being opened in terms of relationships. Where you can see someone like a Kota Ibushi in NXT. Even tho he’s not under contract to them nor is he under contract to New Japan. It’s almost a new era that’s similar to now in the music industry. It’s great to have a record label and all that but you can reach the fans directly. In a way the wrestlers, the talents themselves, are transcending the company as brands with value. They are then able to set the terms of their agreements. You have The Young Bucks that have an agreement that lets them work in New Japan, Ring of Honor and Pro Wrestling Guerrilla. Which is… you know… someone had to put in a contract, “You can wrestle at Guerrilla.” From the Indys up to the WWE, New Japan and beyond. The door is open if you are that talented, in demand and also are professional and cordial to deal with. Sometimes when you have very unique ways of looking at the business and how you can be involved in it it’s very easy to rub people the wrong way or being considered difficult. It’s an art to be able to walk a tightrope the way an Ibushi does and the way, I suspect, a Matt Hardy will. There’s a lot of hurdles. You have to not just be a master performer but also a master negotiator as well.
