The Miz’s State of the Intercontinental Championship Address:
The Miz is in the ring with Maryse and The Spirit Squad. The Spirit Squad does a chant for The Miz. It’s a been dark 16 days for Miz since he’s lost the Intercontinental Championship. It’s day of 16 of the Intercontinental Championship Burial Tour. Not only does Miz feel sorry for the fans, but he most importantly he feels sorry for the legends. The legends that made that championship the most prestigious championship in WWE history. The Intercontinental Championship is dying a slow death according to Miz. He can picture Pat Patterson crying. Dolph Ziggler comes down to the ring. Ziggler feels sorry for everyone who has had to deal with this crap for the last six months.
The WWE Universe has a fighting champion now and he’ll put the belt on the line against the Miz right now. Miz says that a true fighting champion, like himself, doesn’t get goaded into a rematch. He’ll get his title shot soon but they can accommodate the request for a fight. Heath Slater and Rhyno come down to the ring. Ziggler, Rhyno and Slater get into the ring, but Maryse stands in their way.
Slater wants to know what’s Miz’s problem? Slater is a joke and so is their Tag Team championship reign. It’s more embarrassing than Ziggler’s IC title run. Miz asked him what he knows about being a champion. Slater said that he knows champions don’t run from a challenge. Miz said that’s as funny as Slater getting pinned last week. He said the Spirit Squad would love a title match and dared them to defend the belts against the Spirit Squad. Slater said that he hears what was being said but he just bought five stocks in Puerto Rico. Miz asked him if he was scared by a pair of cheerleaders. Slater said no, and Miz cut him off before he could continue and said Slater was on and called for a referee.
