WWE 205 Live Results (6/13): TJ Perkins vs Akira Tozawa, Austin Aries Addresses His Future, Cedric Alexander in Action & More

TJ PERKINS vs. AKIRA TOZAWA

Titus O’Neil is backstage watching the match, still trying to recruit Tozawa to the Titus Brand. The two stars go back and forth with quick pin attempts, and are neck and neck for the first few minutes of the match. Tozawa starts his chant and Perkins flies out of the air, taking him down to silence the cries from the crowd. He continues to work over Tozawa, going after his arm at first then switching to his knee to weaken it for his finisher. TJP puts on a modified Trailer Hitch, then transitions into various submissions with relative ease, trying to keep his opponent completely grounded. Akira comes out of nowhere with a standing Frankensteiner, following up with a tope suicida to the floor to take down Perkins.

Again, the match goes back and forth with neither gaining the advantage for too long. They fight up to the top turnbuckle, and both hit big kicks that send them crashing down to the mat. Perkins recovers first and hits a double knee gutbuster for two-and-a-half. He almost gets caught but floats into the kneebar. Tozawa crawls to the ropes but Perkins pulls him back to the center, only to get caught with a roll-up that almost puts him away. They trade strikes and elbows, both looking to put the other away, until Tozawa explodes with a half-and-half suplex, mounts the ropes and connects with a high elevation senton splash for the 1-2-3.

Winner: Akira Tozawa

The show ends with Titus O’Neil backstage cheering Tozawa on. Neville comes in and is disgusted by his enthusiasm, and claims that Tozawa isn’t even close to being on the “Neville Level”. Titus tells him he’s the future of 205 Live, and leaves the champion standing backstage.
