WWE Smackdown Results (7/25): Chris Jericho Returns, Huge Triple Threat Main Event For the US Title, John Cena Challenges Jinder Mahal

Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Baron Corbin

Nakamura wasted little time going after Corbin, taking him to the floor and firing off with knees and strikes. He went for a dropkick up the apron but got leveled by a huge clothesline instead. The Lone Wolf slowed things down during the commercial break, brawling on the floor and using the apron and barricade to his advantage. There was a spot during the break (some providers have picture-in-picture during commercials) where Shinsuke trapped him in a triangle choke out of nowhere, but Corbin powered him into the air and broke it with a big slam. Definitely should have been shown live. Eventually the Artist made his comeback and started throwing stiff kicks and knocked the big man down with a straight boot to the chest. He hit a knee lift in the corner and came flying off the second rope with a missile dropkick, but only got two. Kinshasa attempt, but it’s reversed into a high elevation backbreaker. Corbin started leveling him with knees on the mat, slowly punishing his gut and midsection. Nakamura tried to rally back using his speed to avoid a couple clotheslines but ran into the Deep Six for a close two-count. Corbin tried for End of Days but Nakamura floated out of it and fired off with a flurry of elbows and kicks. A Kinshasa connects to the back of the head, followed by a second to the face. 1…2…3.

Winner: Shinsuke Nakamura
