Draft Follow Up

I’m so good at this, it’s almost as if I should be writing about it on the Interwebs of information…

Boy, it’s hard to type while patting myself on the back.  Thought I’d give myself a little draft report card (naturally, I thought this was a good idea because I know I did well…I sincerely doubt there’d be a report card if I sucked it up).  Yes, I am writing this expressly to toot my own horn.

I mentioned 19 possible wrestlers on the move in my column on Monday.  How many came true?  An absolutely incredible 14 out of 19.  That is 74% accuracy.  Out of a roster of well over 100 performers to choose from, that is pretty deadly accuracy.  I also could have easily padded my stats by mentioning a few more of the completely obvious selections (random divas, Chavo, Natalya who was already on ECW, etc.), but I didn’t want to list the most obvious choices.  The only predictions of mine that I were genuinely shocked didn’t pan out were Umaga to ECW (I’m hearing injury rumors swirling as a likely explanation for this) and Christian to one of the major shows.  They must really not like him.  Why even sign him then?  I accurately projected:

Kozlov to ECW
MVP to RAW
Ezekiel to ECW
Mr. Kennedy to RAW
The Miz
John Morrison
Jericho to SD
Knox to SD
Big Show to RAW
Primo to RAW
Carlito to RAW
Festus
Matt Hardy to RAW
Ricky Ortiz to SD

Since I can’t justify posting this just yet, here is an oh so very brief look at come quick post draft thoughts:

Most Likely to Receive a Push On Their New Brand:  Ziggler, Morrison, Ezekiel, Festus, Kozlov, MVP

Most Likely to Never Appear on Their New Brand and Never Be Seen on TV Again: Ryder (and Hawkins who was left behind), Haas

I wish the announce teams were shuffled.  Grisham is not a good pairing with JR.  And I don’t like the dynamic between Matthews and Striker nearly as much as I liked Grisham/Striker.  How fantastic was Josh Matthews’ nose bleed though?  That was the funniest thing I’ve seen in ages. Having both titles on RAW won’t last too long…so that should assure that Money in the Bank is cashed sooner than later (there’s a PPV next month in Chicago, Punk’s hometown).  Good call on keeping the Bellas on the same brand…their only true appeal is that they are twins, separating them would be a waste.  Jericho is going to end up being a major focal point on SD…and a program involving Edge would surely be entertaining.  Although Jeff Hardy seems like a viable first feud for him.  Why did they have a ton of RAW guys on this week’s SD taping?  What is the point of the draft if you don’t honor the brand changes anyway?  Does anyone genuinely believe there will be a true Matt Hardy push on RAW?  I don’t.  Taking the tag titles away from ECW or SD is piss poor.  RAW is beyond stacked already…it hurts the other 2 shows and guarantees that the tag division is lost in the shuffle.  And that Priceless win the titles really soon.  They should restart the cruiserweight title on ECW to make it a little different.

Okay, that’s enough for now.  Just remember, I’m really, really good at this.
